htv4_departSeptember 7, 2013: Today the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced completion of the destructive re-entry of the fourth H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV), named Kounotori-4, bringing to an end its nearly month-long mission. After a successful attached operations phase, HTV-4 was unberthed from the International Space Station (ISS) and released using the robotic arm on September 4, 2013 at 16:20 GMT, at which time it departed the vicinity of ISS. Re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere occurred on September 7, 2013 at 06:36 GMT, completing a successful mission.
