Odyssey Space Research congratulates Antares Nuclear on the successful achievement of criticality for its Mark-0 reactor, a significant milestone in the development of advanced nuclear energy systems and an important accomplishment under the U.S. Department of Energy’s reactor pilot program.
Achieving criticality marks the point at which a nuclear reactor sustains a controlled chain reaction, demonstrating that the reactor design and associated control systems are functioning as intended. This milestone represents a critical step toward reactor operation, testing, and future deployment.
Odyssey Space Research is proud to support Antares through independent software verification and validation (IV&V) activities for key reactor control software systems. Our work includes assessment of control state machines, software test coverage strategies, identification of potential test gaps, and recommendations to strengthen software verification efforts as Antares advances reactor development.
We commend the entire Antares team for this achievement and look forward to continuing our support as they advance next-generation nuclear technology.
