June 9th: Our Houston office is home to our LTV Crew Training Simulator, a detailed driving simulator for the FLEX vehicle. Our setup provides Artemis crew the opportunity to drive the rover across the lunar surface and get familiar with the vehicle’s handling and many capabilities before they eventually get to drive the real thing on the Moon. The lunar surface has realistic lighting, vehicle response, and terrain features, allowing crew to be immersed in the experience and provide valuable feedback and observations on our setup. This simulator, and its additional VR capability, will eventually be expanded and permanently reside onsite at Johnson Space Center.
