About the Opportunity:
Odyssey is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist to play a key role in our ongoing CMMC and regulatory compliance efforts. Based in either of our offices in Houston, Texas or Boulder, Colorado, you will work alongside software developers and engineers on autonomous and human spaceflight projects, helping ensure our information systems meet the highest security standards — while also supporting the day-to-day needs of our business staff.

What you’ll do:
- Monitor the regulatory landscape, assess emerging trends, and determine applicability to Odyssey’s operations
- Advise leadership to ensure corporate policies adequately address compliance requirements
- Audit and assess information systems for policy compliance and risk
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for certifications and audits
- Submit responses to regulatory authorities on behalf of the organization
- Oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) implementation and auditing activities
- Provide security guidance and training to system administrators and employees
Required Skills:
Candidates must have hands-on experience (not just familiarity) with:
- Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0
- NIST SP 800-171 and SP 800-53
- Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
- Writing and maintaining a System Security Plan (SSP)
- Supporting government sector contracts
- Project management and issue/milestone tracking
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- U.S. Citizen (or Permanent Resident) is required due to the nature of the work
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (relevant IT certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree)
- 10+ years of experience in information security or information technology
- 5+ years of experience in federal sector security compliance
Other Useful Skills (not required for every position):
- Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux administration
- Exposure to software development practices
- Familiarity with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001
- Experience with Microsoft 365 governance tools (e.g., Purview)

Salary Range:
$120k – $180k
