December 18, 2017: The Orbital ATK Cygnus has successfully completed the OA-8 mission. This was the eighth Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) cargo mission to the International Space Station (ISS) for Cygnus. Odyssey engineers supported from the Johnson Space Center Mission Control Complex as it was released and departed from ISS on December 6th, with release occurring at 13:11 UTC. After conducting some non-resupply-related operations, re-entry occurred on December 18th, with successful destructive re-entry completed at 12:54 UTC.

Odyssey’s role in Cygnus development was extensive, including Systems Engineering design support, Concept of Operations development, Robotic Capture design and analysis, and Independent Verification and Validation of all safety critical software.
